I got my first action figures 3 or 4 years ago, but I've gotten
heavily into them 2 years ago when I picked up a Mal from Serenity at
NY ComicCon. A dealer had 1 or 2 left and I snatched it up. They're so
well sculpted and articulated now (well, not all of them, some
companies pose them with limited articulation) and I love miniatures
and they fit in fairly well with my 1 inch to 1 foot scale dollhouses,
that I kept buying them. I have most them in shoeboxes because I have
no room for them otherwise. I take them out to pose for scenes and to
take pics of them (posted on flickr).

:) The Spikes are all different. And 2 are wearing Hawaiian shirts I
got them at a dollhouse miniatures show. I have photos of those on
flickr, too.

I tend to have fewer characters, except for the riot at the rally
scene. And in the most recent draft, that changed into something
unexpected, as it provided a good place to fit something in that
covered something a beta reader had mentioned. So now, the riot not
only serves its own plot point, but it's a cover for another bit of
scheming that might slip under the reader's radar and yet the reader
can't say it wasn't mentioned. The aim is to keep people confused as
to who is doing what. But even with the riot, there are only 3
characters in the scene who matter, and moving them around logically
in a way it's interesting to read was tough and I hope I've succeeded.

Photos of them cavorting for my camera are on flickr.com, user name
ShellyS (not much of a surprise there, I'd think). That might be the
next best thing. Right now, I've become enamored of 3 1/2 inch Star
Wars Stormtrooper figures. They're amazingly articulated for such
little guys, very posable. If I get enough, I might be able to pose
them for some real battles.

Yes, you mentioned that. :) (I don't know whether I would stand there
wondering which to take, because of course one would take only one, or
do the same as you and buy all three.)

:) Will put that in the file where I collect links, to look at when I'm
online.
