Does that mean it is wrong to buy a used Garth Brooks record, over the
objections of Garth Brooks? Or is it the law which defines what is
right or wrong? In that case, were all forms of sexual activity aside
from missionary position between married people wrong until relatively
recently?

No, that's Garth being stupid. If I BUY your record, I have the right
to SELL that record.

What I DON'T have is the right to make COPIES of the record and give
them away or sell them.

In my local jurisdiction, I have the right to loan you the record and you
then have the right to make a copy for your own use. Legally.

I also have the right to download a copy off the internet, legally. I' m
just not allowed to upload, so peer-to-peer is a no-no.

I see the very things I was treated as a lunatic for suggesting people
should have a right to do are legal in some jurisdictions.
