Guys, track back a bit. The attacks are part of a long term sporge
(SPam of fORGEd postings) that's been going on for many months. It is
aimed at sci.crypt; no-one here, not even TopPoster or Yads, is
responsible for it.
Yads may well be indirectly to blame for RADW getting targetted - I
suspect the cross-infection to have come via rec.arts.sf.written,
which has been under this attack for 2 months or more (take a look at
it on Google Groups to see what I mean), and that may well be down to
one of Yads' many cross-pollination threads where he hijacks a thread
in a sane newsgroup and crossposts his reply into RADW - thus alerting
the sporger, as he browses (in the grass-nibbling sense) his target
newsgroups for a new poster handle to forge, to the existence of this
ng as yet another drive-by victim. The attack in RADW began shortly
after Yads derailed a RASFW thread and branched it out into here.
Best solution:
1. Get a proper Usenet newsreader (I know, I'm posting from Google
Groups - that's because I'm at work and the firewall can't find news
servers).
2. Subscribe to news.individual.net (EURO 10 a year, bargain) - they
filter out most of the crap for you.
3. Killfile TopPoster, Mr Smartypants, and WetDuck (as they never
generally do anything but hound after Yads and it's getting *really*
old).
4. Killfile Aggy and Yads too, if you are starting to fail your SAN
checks there.
Job done.
