Original audio stories downloadable as MP3 files
(Hence name AUDIO story auTHOR).
There's another world of imagination that can be stimulated by sound, just like in the olden days when people would gather round the radio - Only now the MP3 player means you can take it wherever you go.

Creative but lazy.

If you saw the work that went into it over the two years it's been in production then I don't think you'd call it lazy

Creative but lower budget, perhaps.

The question is - Has anyone listened to it & what do people think of the story?

No, I think you misunderstood me. I was saying that I was creative but lazy. I didn't check out your work, nothing personal, just didn't get around to it.

AudioThor, I clipped your website and added it to my blog. I hope you get some hits. I also added it to stumbleUpon for a science fiction site. I tagged AudioThor too on del.icio.us. I hope this helps. I wish the samples were longer.

I have a new project this year.

In light of getting an education at Uni level, my interests and specialisations need to be settled on. I am doing a joint honours degree, two degrees, 50% of each, in English Language and Linguistics and english Literature.

There is a module or at least interest in the Language and Linguistics side in the burgeoning E-Communication side of language use. This involves everything from txt msg's, instant messaging, forum use, emails, etc. Their is a large problem with todays youngsters using "cool" txt msg and instant messaging speak and not learning the correct rules for the English language, ie. "the correct language for the situation."

For literature, I am not sure if I will be having the chance to do a module in creative writing, but here I will be looking at things from a different angle anyhow. The government sets an educational curriculum based on future work force needs and we are turning into a service industry where soft subjects and basic IT knowledge is a necessity to operate a shop till, run the phones in a credit card helpline and various other soul destroying white collar jobs (read Dilbert and you'll understand!)

So, with the fact I have kids myself and want to join those interests above with my encouraging their reading, correct language usage and creativity I have decided to work towards a series of childrens books, a more modern, techno-thriller version of the Hardy Boys. I can home print and hand bind the results and give them to my kids and hope the aims of producing them work on them the way I want.

Just trying to iron out some rules and ideas before I start on them. Theres a lot of note taking and mind mapping forms going up here!

That's a noble ambition.

I so empathise with that sentiment. As I'm that age myself, I remember watching 2001 - A space odyssey as a kid and imagining taking a holiday on the moon by now. But alas it's not to be.....

Farewell Arthur C. Clarke....:crying:

From about seven on to seventy two I've been creating surrealistic or fantasy and science fiction artifacts. Some are stories, some are sculptures or dioramas, etc. I have a YA novel (250 pages) that I have to go back and edit some time, and a number of stories at my homepage on the Internet: http://www.wesleyan.edu/av/gronican.htm

I've done some short (amateur) movies and played a role in "The Handmaiden's Daughter." It all helps to keep me from being "sane."

The "Mother Grok" (sculpture) (thank you Robert Heinlein) played a part in one of my stories. I guess I've had more fun with imagination than I have any right to have, but that's the luck of the draw and once in a while I've been lucky. (we won't talk about the other parts.)

In the front window of "Laser Tag" on Main St. in Middletown, Ct. I have the entire front window which has about twenty of my sculptures.

I write short stores (had a couple published and will have another one out soon) and I am a staff writer for Pantechnicon eZine.

Currently working on a vampire story that's going to be submitted to NIGHTS OF BLOOD (http://www.23house.com/vampire/) (the link takes you to the submission guidelines if anyone else fancies a pop at it).

I tend to write stupid (hopefully funny) stories that don't take themselves too seriously. The first one I had published was about Santa Claus being shot down by the Americans and taken to Guantanamo Bay as a terrorist, and the second was about a terrorist attack in hell (the terrorist thing was just a coincidence, and not a theme of mine or anything).

Howdy Globule! :welcome:

I used to write quite a bit back in college... since I've had kids, I've been a bit too busy (unfortunately), but I'd love to find some time and get back to it.
