Do you think that return of David Letterman's writer's (an agreement
reached between Letterman and the SGA) will hinder the WGA striking
wiriter's.Perhaps create a rift in solidarity. Do you think other shows
will follow suit?

IMHO it won't really hurt either side but it will spur future
shows to be set up in a similar fashion. (i.e. The Lettermen
show is not owned and produced by CBS, rather it is owned and
produced by World Wide Pants, Lettermans production company.)

Plus, unlike sitcoms, the Letterman shows are not likely to appear on
DVD...

Both true statements especially about Letterman owning the right's to
his show and the Late Show with Craig Ferguson. About the DVD, though, I
have seen the Best of Carson on DVD. The best of the Late Show with
David Letterman not so far fetched along with re-broadcasts on the web.
