I give it 4.5 Stars. It was nice to learn something about John's past.
It's a shame we didn't find out what John's father left him in the
will. It would have been big joke on his brother if John received the
bulk of the inheritance.

5. About time we learned more about John's
background (worth 4.5). Ronon's comedic relief
and emotional support for John worth .25.
Appearance by Dr. Lee, .25 as well. :-)

1.5.
I'm tired of Replicators.
4 years into the show, they finally decide to give Shephard a background
that involves more than military maneuvers. However, instead of actually
exploring that background, they merely drop a hint or two: He had issues
with his dad (wow, that's original), and his wife divorced him because
he just never engaged with her (just like he really doesn't engage with
anyone at Atlantis). At least she was hot (she and Scarlet Johanson are
the only reason to watch "8 Legged Freaks").
I really don't know why I even watch this show. It's consistently bad,
with nothing but cliched plots and uninteresting characters.

Zero. Total waste of time.

Some stupid elements, like trusting the girl and her boss, but still an
entertaining episode.

Best show of the season.
So, Shepherd's a Poor Little Rich Kid. Could have been a more intersting
background, but what the hell. It did subtley show he was pissed at having
to miss his dad's funeral. Brought out the ruthlessness I like in him.
Somehow I think Gen. Oneill would be more help tracking down government
secrets than the justanother****ingbureaucratinHomeland Security ex, but
they needed some reason for the two of them to sneak around.
Also seems they wer several hundred armed warm bodies and several RPG's
short in their terminator--errr-replicator hunt.
I got a kick out of them trying to out-terminator Terminator, though.
I don't know why all these (not just this show) super beings always go to
kung fu-ing each other.
Ripping out a support beam and throwing it like a spear would be more
effective. That's why spears, bows and arrows and guns were developed. A
tank's first choice isn't to ram another tank.
All in all, a real good throwback show. I knew Hot Chick In Glasses was a
replicator before they did. She just had to be.
Someday, Roanan's going to find out that, instead of sending him straight
back to Atlantis, John could have assigned him a buddy, handed him a wad of
cash, and stuck him on a plane to Vegas to wait while he did his family
****.
He will be pissed.
I like them making her the ghost in the machine. And that did take me by
surprise. They shouldn't have let her pick her own clothes, though. And,
maybe it's just me, but I think the Mexican Whorehouse scenario would have
been a lot better for her than, what was that--Chicago?

This was marginally less bad than the last Earth-based episode to which
it was sort of a sequel, but it's a small margin.
They really need to give replicators a rest.
Not only does the government leak all the most dangerous (as opposed to
useful) technical information but they must have unaccounted-for shipments
of neutronium floating around in spite of the clever code names. And
the mad scientist not only knows about the latest in anti-replicator
technology (on sight even) but builds his monster to be immune to it.
Much like the nanites were designed to be immune to EMP even though there
would be no reason to harden medical devices (and perhaps every reason
to not do so, give the lack of a graceful kill switch).
Why did Sheppard go to his ex-wife to find somebody with security clearance?
He must have (or have access to people with) pretty high clearance. The
information didn't seem to be specific to an area to which his ex-wife would
have compartmentalized access. If he was worried about what would happen
to the person asking the questions he must really not like his ex-wife...

That was the second episode in a row to make me wonder whether I was
watching SGA or SG1. This show has lost its direction, or its new
direction is to recreate SG1, either way I'm not thrilled. Earlier in
the season there was all sorts of talk about all the duds being up
front, clearing the way for the good stuff. Well we're more than half
into the season and it's getting worse.
More replicators, on Earth, but not picking up the RepliWeir dangler
from three episodes ago? That alone docks this episode two and a half
points.
Something that occurred to me during the replicator fight... Two
replicators kicking and punching each other may look good, but it
doesn't make sense. *They don't feel pain and can't be incapacitated
by broken bones, punctured organs, blood loss, or concussion.*
Replicators would know that too, so they should have been trying to
tear each other apart, or impale, crush, or blow up each other with
weapons/machinery at hand.
Tapping gets one line? I guess Sanctuary may turn out to be just that
for her.
Best line of the night has to be Shepard saying "I did mention I have
a whole background and family and stuff going on outside of the
military, right?" I paraphrase to make my point clear. We're 4 years
in, guys...

0.5 - another bad filler and partly a rip off from Terminator and
other shows (as usual).
I have a question: do people use the same scale to rate every show
(that's what I try to do) or rate each show according to a different
scale. Because I can't believe than the season premiere of Lost would
get some 3s and 4s and this shitty episode some 4s and 5s (for
example) !!

Did he? Are you sure? I thought he said he didn't know he had a brother? But
that he knew Sheppard had a wife? (which was mentioned in a previous episode
"Sunday" if I remember)

Maybe they just like one series better than the other? I don't watch
Lost, so I certainly can't compare them.

That struck me as odd because he has all those high-clearance people at
Stargate command who ought to be able to find out. And General O'Neill.

And who played the brother? He looked familiar, but I don't know from

I don't think John would want it or care, why does he need it anyhow,
he's usually in another galaxy?
I still thought it was funny at the beginning of the episode when Ronan
says Sheppard never mentioned a brother, I turned to my wife and said
"That's because we just made him up!"

The whole point of sending the show to the Pegasus Galaxy was so that
the heroes could meet new people and face new threats. Instead, we get
more of the same plots, characters, and enemies.
The Replicator civilization has been destroyed twice already, and yet
they just won't go away. The repeatedly - both in the Milky Way and in
the Pegasus Galaxy, as humans or bugs - appear, either mindlessly intent
on destroying humans or convenient, throw-away plot devices.
It's just tiresome.

One of the better episodes in the fourth season, but it's a season that is
easily on track to be the worst yet.
Who *was* that who predicted the earlier 4th season shows were the dogs, and
the season would get marvelous toward the end?
****, I think it was me!
I screwed up.
Good news? If SG-1 is any indication, the quality can fluctuate a lot over
long periods, as in mult-seasonal.
If I had to pick SG-1's nadir, it would be S6, and not merely because
Michael Shanks sat it out.
And there are still a few at-bats left in this season's ball-game. Keep
fingers crossed!

Blood Ties' Detective Celucci. He also guest stared on Psych a couple of
episodes back, the one set at the winery that had previously served as the
grounds of the 4400 center.

So they take the TNG episode where Picard goes back to Earth to mud
wrestle with his brother, combine it with the ongoing Replicator arc,
and use the ending of the TNG episode where the Moriarty program takes
over the Entperprise and wants to be made into solid. Cute replicator
chick.

Who cares, you don't even have to show tem on screen. A simple "We got this
from O'Neill/Hammond/Landry" would have sufficed.

AHA! I did watch Blood Ties regularly, but didn't make the connection.

Average episode but at least there was some character
development for Sheppard. Wuhrer was nice to see. I
like the actress and she and Sheppard go well together.
Too bad we won't see her again. I would have loved her
instead of Staite for the doctor. Oh well...
Other than that, not very engaging. Like many here said,
it stole from the Terminator movies and TNG (see
Moriarty) which made it highly unoriginal.

Me too. I'm glad they progressed to humanoid shapes.

Not having a DVR, I hate it when shows I want to watch are scheduled

best examples)>

For a laugh they could have had Ronan and Sheppard going off ice skating
