View Full Version : Super Sci Fi Marathon

Instead of watching all the pre-game Super Bowl crap, I spent most of
yesterday watching the Sci-Fi channels Enterprise marathon, and found myself
intrigued about their choices of which episodes to air:

Dear Doctor - one of the most controversial episodes of any Trek series, and
the best treatment of the Prime Directive ever done anywhere in Trek. John
Billingsley was terrific ..

Shockwave 1 and 2 - Daniels takes Archer into the future, and "makes the
biggest mistake in the history of time travel"

Vanishing Point - Hoshi gets naked after a transporter malfunction

Much of the Xindi arc, including Zero Hour, E Squared, and Proving Ground,
my three favorite episodes of that arc.

Storm Front 1 and 2 - Nazis invade America. This was the only arc I flat
out didn't care for, though I thought that the actor who played Silik was
really good here. As Daniels was brought back to life when the timeline was
reset, I want to believe Silik was, too.

In A Mirror, Darkly, Part 1 of which I loved, and Part 2 of which sucked. I
kept thinking, I'll bet the cast really enjoyed playing against type. I
certainly enjoyed Linda Park as 'the Captain's woman'

Terra Prime 1 and 2 - Peter Weller was terrific as the xenophobe desperate
to purge the earth of alien influence ..

Conspicuously missing was much of the fan favorite fourth season: nothing
about the Augments, and nothing about the dreadful episode about how the
Klingons lost their ridges .. I thought the choice of which episodes to air
was excellent, especially since it so closely followed my own list of what
were the best episodes of Enterprise.

About the only one I would have liked to see that wasn't shown is Carbon
Creek where T'Pol plays with headgames with Trip and Archer (and by
extension, Braga does with us ..)

Way to go, Sci Fi. Lets do it again real soon.

Unfortunately, the Sci Fi channel seemed to limit itself, given a lot of
what they showed were 2 and 3 parters (would "Zero Hour"/"Storm Front" be a
2 1/2 parter) a lot seemed to be left out. I would have LOVED seeing the
Soong trilogy, myself.
