January 31 marked the end of the "official" ASC year for 2007. As in
other years, we will soon be holding awards. However, due to the
extremely low volume of stories, this year's awards will be somewhat
simpler and more stream-lined than in the past.

The schedule for this year's awards is as follows:

February 6 - Check Ballot # 1 posted for all series
February 13 - Check Ballot # 2 posted for all series
February 20 - Check Ballot # 3 posted for all series

March 2 - Commenting Period # 1 (TOS) opens at 2 pm EST
March 9 - Commenting Period # 2 (TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT & MIS) opens at 2
pm EST
March 16 - Commenting Period # 1 closes at 2 pm EST
March 23 - Commenting Period # 2 closes at 2 pm EST

March 30 - Winners announced

A check ballot is a list of all the stories, divided into relevant
categories, which are running in this year's awards. All stories
posted for the first time between February 1, 2007 and January 31,
2008 are eligible, unless an author specifically opts out. Please
examine the check ballots as they appear and notify me (rockytster @
gmail.com) of any omissions.

Many thanks to the various series maintainers who have posted SoS
(status of story) lists throughout the year and who helped compile the
various check ballots:

TNG - Ke Roth
VOY - Seema
DS9, ENT & MIS - KyRoka
TOS - Rocky

There will be further posts detailing registration, how awards work,
how voting is accomplished, and so on.

Rocky - ASC Awards Coordinator
Stephen - ASC Chief Technical Officer & Guru

Dear ASC team,

Thank you all once again for your assiduous efforts in keeping the ship running,
even though less volume of stories supposedly makes for less work.
I wonder if perhaps, when the latest Star Trek movie is released (you know, the one by JJ Abrams of Heroes,
Cloverfield ...),
the renewed publicity generated will feed back into even higher creative levels here again ...

Hey, once again having issues with my Netscape (had to change a
motherboard/reinstall Windows, etc.) so I'm posting from here again.
Think of me as Gabrielle Lawson aka Philippe de la Matraque.

I finally got a change to go to the voting page today and noted all
the nice summaries for stories. Except for mine.

I have a summary in my header. Not sure why none is on the page. I
know it's a WIP but *someone* just might be enticed to read it if
there was a summary. Could you please add it: For Reed and Hoshi,
this is their Roswell, and they are the aliens.

Thank you.

Now, off to sneak some downtime here at work to do some reading....
