View Full Version : Why Dont They....
Sid Slambottom 02-11-2008, 07:25 PM If the writers have run out of ideas, why don't they do what was done on
the stargate series that had Scott Bakula in it, and flip the characters
into bad people.
Have earth be an alternate reality where it is run by some tyranny (please,
not the nazis winning ww2. something a little less cliched and politically
correct), and where Shepherd and the gang, being good products of their
society, are vicious and cruel.
Maybe the writers would be inspired to write something interesting for a
change; if the ratings improve, the show could continue.
I'd love to see Jewel Staite and Amanda Tapping trying to act like
vicious people. Who knows, they might be very good at it.

Sam Beckett on stargate?
No
Al has appeared, yes, but not sam.
:-p
Think you meant Star TREK.
As in Enterprise.
And yes, the "mirror darkly" episodes were rather good, as a prelude to
original trek's "Mirror Mirror" and the DS9 evil universe episodes.

A little alternate reality goes a long way. Having your good guys go
evil might be fun for an episode or two, but you just have to have the
good guys espousing the values of your society; otherwise, the viewers
would have no one to identify with and care about. That's partly why a
show that's a hit in one country rarely translates well in another country.
Besides, DS9 overused this device, and it's now rather cliched and
unoriginal.

Nope. It was Stargate: Crap All Over the Franchise

So...
What alternate reality are you living in where the US didn't kick
Japan's *** to close out (or "win") World War Two?

To put this another way, "Amateurs talk strategy. Professionals talk
logistics."
