I wish Elizabeth Rohm (Detective Kate Lockley) hadn't left the show
after S2 - the chemistry between her & Angel was one of the best early
features of the show.

It sucked that they killed of Doyle too

They also shouldn't have killed off Doyle. The whole thing with Cordelia having the visions was annoying

It's no secret that I liked Kate a lot. The character had outlasted
her role as token police contact - ATS was much more of a detective
show in the very early days - but the series kept coming up with
really interesting things to do with her. They were supposedly
planning on a big Kate story for late S2, but Rohm wasn't available
anymore.
As far as "best guest stars" go, I'm not even going to try to list,
because ATS did so well with its recurring guest stars. Sometimes
they were simply great characters with decent performances, and
sometimes they helped the series include some of its very best acting,
but there are a dozen or two names whose appearance in the "Guest
Starring" list always got me excited.

BTW, checking IMDB, from the latest pictures she looks heavily pregnant.

Jenny Mollen comes to mind...

She had funny eyes. Not sure why, but they were a bit disquieting.

Disquieting?
To me they were a joy to look at.
The rest wasn't bad either. :-)

Nice to see that there are others missing Kate as well. As far as I
know, Rohm left the show due to Law&Order which was shot in a different
town. But I'm badly hoping to see Kate again in the Comic-Sequel since
there should not be any problems with the actress ;)
Don't know if you knew but I post it anyway:

It's a different version of S1E2 showing Kate from a diverse point of
view and IMHO it is a shame that is was stopped (too dark -- what a
justification in a series about daemons -.-) but a pleasure to read
anyway -- I really love the end.

I agree with whoever made the decision to change that, it 'is' too dark.
Making Kate a cop who has been screwing random people for god knows how
long to stay undercover and is a drug addict who needs serious help not
to become a murderer doesn't exactly enamour her to most people.
Fallen.
