I wish it was starting now. All I have is the premiere episode on DVD. Are
there Monk books out?

Fox Mulder... I mean Mox Fulder, Thanks for the news on the new DVDs. By the
way, you have some excellent material on your X-Files site! My cat was named
after Mulder. I have his picture on my site. Thanks again.

Check this out:
http://leegoldberg.typepad.com/a_writers_life/monk/

I can't find info about the book(s) anywhere else, though. I checked
Amazon and saw that this guy has written novels based on other TV
shows, so maybe the Monk book is still a ways off.

The book, Mr. Monk Goes to the Firehouse, is due out in January of
2006. The author, Lee Goldberg, also wrote a couple of Monk episodes:
Mr. Monk Goes to Mexico and Mr. Monk Meets the Godfather. He's working
on another Monk novel now.

Looks like we get eight episodes this time:

Jul 08: "Mr. Monk and the Other Detective"
(with Jason Alexander)
Jul 15: "Mr. Monk Goes Home Again"
(with John Turturro reprising his role as Ambrose)
Jul 22: "Mr. Monk Stays in Bed"
Jul 29: "Mr. Monk and Mrs. Monk"
Aug 05: "Mr. Monk Gets Drunk"
Aug 12: "Mr. Monk Goes to A Wedding"
Aug 19: "Mr. Monk Goes to the Office"
Aug 26: "Mr. Monk and Little Monk"

The USA site says "In one episode Trudy 'appears' to return from the
dead." Also, we're supposed to have a flashback episode seeing Monk as
a teenager.
