You won't get through to him. He's an obsessive nutball who has no concept
of the right time and place, like someone who starts evangelising recycling
at your grandma's funeral or testifying for Jesus while you're trying to
enjoy the football game. He just doesn't understand why anyone wouldn't want
to hear his carping voice.

What's sad is that people like Spook don't realise they're doing more harm
than good. Just as the first example annoys people and thus discourages
recycling, or the second puts people off religion, because they create the
impression that the people who are into whatever dang thing they're into are
all irritating loons. Spook's case is particularly sad; he's evangelising a
thoughtful honest politician who seeks smaller, restrained accountable
government and fiscal restraint, by posting loony Troofer nonsense, thus
tarring Paul in the eyes of the wider audience as a nutball. Which is the
problem outsider politicians always have; they end up recruiting from the
long tail of loons, and those loons become the most visible part of their
constituency, thus ruining the politician's chances of recruiting the
mainstream voters they actually need.

But sigh, nothing will dissuade Spook. Through his heavily conceptually
filtered view of the world, these endless posts of his are a public service.
He has no idea why anyone else would think otherwise.
