Heh. I 'made my bones' with the CoT years ago in an eBay scam.
Some kid from Australia posted to our usual haunt that he had
been ripped off, and could we help. The address of the alleged
perp was up towards Concord, so I drove up, took some pics of
the house etc. and convinced the guy to play nice.

Similiar thing happened to me on AOL about 5 yrs ago. This idiot
called Filmguy27 was bugging me with emails and IMs. He's doesn't
notice I live in CA. I did an internet search on his email addy, and
find his homepage with a home address in Petaluma. I go up there, see
it, and email a description of his home. I made up some BS that I'm a
UPS Driver. That guy freaked out.

One problem with using Google to poast is the NNTP Posting Host
header, which identifies your specific PC to teh world. Someone
who's good with tracert can probably narrow your physical
location down within a few blocks. Spend the $6 a month for an
altopia feed, or learn to use open proxies.
