Jericho Cancelled a Second Time
-------------------------------
CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said on Friday
that "Jericho" will not be returning for a third season.

"The March 25th episode of Jericho will be the series
finale," said Tassler.

She added: "Without question, there are passionate
viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were
more. We thank an engaged and spirited fan base for
keeping the show alive this long, and an outstanding
team of producers, cast and crew that went through
creative hoops to deliver a compelling, high quality
second season. We have no regrets bringing the show back
for a second try. We listened to our viewers, gave the
series an opportunity to grow, and the producers put a
great story on the screen. We're proud of everyone's
efforts."

Yeah, I knew it was a goner from the moment they announced the time slot.

But, at least (IIRC) the producers filmed both a season finale AND a
series finale... so we'll hopefully get the answers to some of the big
questions.

That's the thing, isn't it, at least they got the chance to finish the
story, unlike some other axed shows.

We should have known it was to be cancelled as all the actors are being
killed off.

Did you watch the finale? They skipped over lots of action, but then
its understandable since they probably had to air 4-5 episodes worth of
story in one hour... I wish CBS would have let them have a two hour finale.

Well, I think everyone assumed it was going to be cancelled when CBS
ordered only seven episodes.

I only recall one "main" character being killed off this season.

Yeah, just finished watching it a little while ago. It did seem rushed but
we did get a conclusion. Well, to a certain point, since the story would
have obviously gone on. Now I want to see the alternate finale they shot!
Any leaks out there? :-)

Nothing too detailed that I've seen so far... but here's a little
interview from TVGuide.com with the executive producer:

http://tiny.cc/6Gxw5

She's apparently been shopping the show to cable networks.

Thanks, that was interesting, very much what I would have expected from the
cliffhanger ending, really. I see she hasn't given up hope yet, which is
nice. I guess we shall have to wait and see.

Agreed.

Quick question:
I remember ages ago lots of talk about a lady called Barbee being in charge
of the SciFi channel and fans claiming she was some sort of work of evil
runing the channel. Assuming my memory is somewhere close to correct, is
this the same woman?

The girl and DB Sweenie
