I found this rather odd. Particularly the very last paragraph...

Shows returning to NBC next season include "ER," "The Office,"
"Chuck," "Life," "The Biggest Loser," "American Gladiators," "Deal or
No Deal" and "My Name Is Earl." Also a safe bet to be back: "Medium,"
"30 Rock," at least one "Law & Order" skein and "Friday Night Lights."
First-year drama "Lipstick Jungle" could also return.

I wondered at that too. I'm sure they'll be bringing it back, they don't
announce all the shows at once.

The shows listed here were the ones about whom there might be some
question. They announced that Heroes would be back in the fall a couple of
months ago.

Heroes is the best thing the network has. It has precisely ZERO
chance of being cancelled (at least for now). Not to worry...

If it was Law & Order or Deal or No Deal, I could agree with you. The
long layoff means the storyline has to grab or it will lose what
audience it has. From what I've seen from clients who watched the
first few weeks of the show and ditched it, it was taking too long for
the disparate threads to coalesce. It was cool when Micah convinced
his Dad to help out at the burning car, and Hiro helped too, but that
was weeks into the show.

Of course, that happened all over again with Season 2. But Season 3
was supposed to be mid-Season, so there shouldn't be that problem--
there better not be that problem.
