So, anyway, I'm listening to the 18 cd reading of Dune. Now the first
scenes of Jessica/Paul/Mohiam are done by three distinct voice actors,
with a male narrator making up the fourth. Nicely done. Then we have the
interlude of Piter/Baron/Feyd. The same basic format. Three voice
talents, with the narrator. Great. Then comes the Mohiam/Jessica scenes.
Now, it's done with just the narrator. He uses two falsetto voices to
represent Mohiam and jessica. It's a bit jarring....

The female voice actresses were off that day, I guess.

Yes - but the narrator's wearing glove-puppets and speaking through
them, which is entirely justified, artistically.

Glove-puppet Mohiam : "You weh hold to gear only daughtehs to th' Atreides".
Glove-puppet Jessica : "It meant so buch to hib".
Glove-puppet Mohiam : "Gottle of geer!".

Do they then start whacking each other with sticks, I wonder?
