Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only "meta-human" who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion -- and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won't be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become...The Flash.

And here's the first official trailer for The Flash on CW. I don't recall too many story arcs where he was working with a team like what they show in the trailer, let alone STAR Labs.

In a bit of casting news, John Wesley Shipp, who played The Flash in the 1990 CBS TV series, will be in the new series playing Henry Allen, father of Barry. Barry Allen, as comic fans know, is The Flash.

For anybody watching The Flash you'll want to also start watching DC's Legends of Tomorrow if you aren't already! Looks like the main antagonist of the "Flashpoint" TV arc will also be a major S2 antagonist on Legends along with Damien Dark from Arrow.

Ooooh, the writers are showing some love to the old CBS series in S3:E2 with that coffee shop scene.
Did... did they just reboot The Flash series all the way back to Day 1?! :wideeyed:
Well... maybe... sort of.

I think that, right now, the comic book TV shows are better than the movies. Since they're episodic, they can reflect the comics more accurately. The Flash has, so far, been a great celebration of time travel, alternate universes, and other crazy comic book stuff!

Of the current DC TV shows I'd have to agree, The Flash is the best of them. I think part of that reason is that they show doesn't take itself as seriously as the others.

I guess I need to watch some more movies.... apparently Tom Felton, appearing in S3 of The Flash, was "Draco Malfoy" in the Harry Potter series. I had no idea. :flee:

Anybody else watching? Something that has been bugging me... the Star Labs building.

How come Barry, as The Flash, has not working on making any repairs to the building since the night of the explosion? All of the exterior shots still show where the explosion took place with a big hole in the roof.

How are the bills being paid to maintain that place? Was there no Star Labs company, just a handful of people in that big building? No corporate board? Who is taking care of the legal stuff for the remnants of the company, like taxes?
