Merci beaucoup!

I tried to correct your mistakes... ^_^

But you're good! (y)

 Cab, another asian person in the asian thread who's taking/knows french! I'm in between you and Maggie, I'm third year French! I wasn't born in asia either, and I've never been there. (n) I've never been anywhere!!!

I took french because... well it started in middle school where I tried to get visual arts as an elective  But it got full so I said Spanish! They gave me french and performing arts. -_- But it's ok because performing arts was really fun!! And then in high school I took french because they didn't have a level 2/3 only 1/2 then 3/4, so I took 1/2 because I already knew some which would make it easier!

Heh the people in French class tend to be a little more um civilized then the people in Spanish...

I remember once in the middle of class, a student opened the door and looked around the room. My french teacher was waiting for a response and hte student goes, "Damn where are all the black kids?" And this is pretty messed up, but I thought it was funny, my teacher responded "they're some in the hallway".

^ :rotflmao: GO ASIAN FRENCHIES!!! At my school, which is an arts school, French is the only foreign language offered. I had my reservations about French, thinking it was too hard and that I'd never use it, but I <3 French! I listen to French music all the time and I even follow Nouvelle Star

Thanks for the corrections! They really help a lot :D J'apprends. The bad thing about learning a foreign lanugage such as French where I live is that no one else really speaks French so you have no way to practice :( Je suis suel.

I want your electives. Drama rocks my socks. AHHH...thank you College Now for Intro to Acting...

I took French as an elective too. My first year...and well...a mi, no me gusta frances. Espanol es mejor de frances, porque es muy facil. That...and since Latin is mandatory (or Ancient Greek)...I sort of mix everything up...:(. I've taken Spanish since forever so it's much easier than French for me...

did u just say spanish is better than french!?! not true!! Le français est plus facile que l'espagnol!!! There's these spanish speakers in my french class and they mix things up too! It's funny how they speak their french sometimes. lol

hehehe, i don't have problem like you because i live in france since i was 3. :P
I learn english and german at school, and korea at home with my parents.

Le français est plus facile que l'espagnol!!!
Moi je pense le contraire: je crois que l'espagnol est plus facile que le français. ;)

lol i live in texas, so technically spanish is more practical, being next to the mexican border lol. but still i like french. je pense que le francais c'est plus facile que l'espagnol.

but that's only because french is more interesting than spanish. i would actually think they're about the same since they're quite similar to one another.

i haven't continued french tho...im afraid to take it at the college level...lol im afraid it mite be super hard...

im taking up mandarin now instead...lol which i know a bit so itll probably be an easy start...hopefully...*sighs*

Ni hao all! I'm new here and I thought I could make the same intro that was in the begining if it's okay

1. from what country are you from
Turku, Finland (well I'm not asian, but look below)

2. where are you now?
Shanghai, China

3. what languages do you speak
hmm..what I speak or I study?! well I speak Finnish and English. and a bit of Mandarin,French and Swedish..I study all of those, but I can't speak them fluently.

4. what alias season is your local tv showing now?
The Japanese chanel shows season 2, but I've seen it to season 3.

5. what are your asian features? almond eyes? round eyes? etc etc etc... i dunno why i even said this. i just cant think of anything else! okay.. there's more..
well, nothing since I'm blonde with green eyes and light skin waiting to get a tan :angelic:

6. why do you like alias?
It has nice dialogue, cool actors and some serious butt kicking with nice little romance in the side (y)

7. how many times has the series mentioned your country? woohooo! for me its a big deal.. coz they rarely mention the philippines. (sloane and emily!)
Well they went to Peking once and JG spoke Mandarin (and once they were in Taiwan, but they were speaking cantonese and I just found it ammusing, coz they spak mandarin in Taiwan)

8. and anything under the sun!!!
Well I'm not asian, but I live here so it would be cool to talk with you guys...all though I'm moving soon to Europe, but I still have lived in Asia so i can hang around with you, right :angelic: ?!

^I don't see why not! (Ahem, it's because your not asian, but we'll let that slide) ;) Welcome to the Asian thread!

I think spanish would have been more useful for me to learn, but at my school, the people who take french are more... ummm civilized than the people who take spanish.

Thank You

I'm studying french, since there was no german class. At our school there is most people asians (suprise, supsire) and all of them was taking french last year and they found out that it was too hard for them so they all went and started chinese, coz it was easier, but I'm still in the class. But I shared class with spanish and it kinda sounded easier, because there´is less R-letters.
Isn't there an opportuunity to study one language primarily and some short classes of another?

OMG me too!! I was like someone should tell them that you dont speak Cantonese in Taiwan!!

hello everybody!! I'm actually in Korea during my holidays, visiting my family and all that boring stuff. lol.
I miss my home though. and my friends. I want to come back in france!!!

I know it was so funny

and staying on that topic

I'm watching the season 4 now and in the 1st episode they were in Shanghai. To show that it was in there they had a pic of PuDong and that's it.
And of course they were in Hong Kong in 1st episode of season 3 and last of season 2.

And they were in Helsinki, Finland once and I think that it was hilarious when they showed some skyscrapers to show that they are in Helsinki, too bad that there aren't any skyscrapers in Finland

Oh! I remembered another one, the first episode of the 4th season, we all know Syd was in Shanghai doing a "mission", right? But she was speaking Mandarin in the club when the girl tried to get into the bathroom!! This is Shanghai, I think they would speak Shanghai-nese. (I don't even know if that's a word but one of my friends speak it and I've been calling it Shanghai-nese since forever. Kinda like Chin..ese or Japan...ese) anyways anyone else notice anymore? I only notice them for Chinese languages since well  ...I speak Chinese!

 still I laughed :P and weiss is adorable! so is marshall too. "I'm Marshall Flinkman and I'm here to rescue you" :super: awww how sweet. *sigh* how I love this site's smilies
