Needle Exchange Programs are programs in which drug users can exchange used syringes for clean ones. They are illegal in most states, and most states have paraphernalia laws, although a few like Washington, New Mexico, New York, and DC do have legalized Needle Exchange Programs (NEPs). NEPs can dramatically reduce the transmission of HIV, Hepatitis C, and other infectios diseases, and they have not been shown to increase drug use.

What do you guys think of Needle Exchange Programs?

I really don't see too much of a problem with it, especially since it has not been shown to increase drug use. I really can't see much bad in something that is cutting reduce the transmission of HIV, Hepatitis, and other such diseases.

But I'm sure it will stir up controversy with some.

I think it's a great idea. Of course it would be better if they'd stop doing drugs but that's not going to happen so we might as well make sure they have clean needles.
