Ever have one of those "I know I didn't dream this" moments but can't for the life of you recall it? This has been going on for me for over a year now. So historic historians, here are the clues:
This show or movie, happened in the 90's I think, it was cliche as all get out. A crew of misfits walks in to the home base after some brutal felgercarb that they made it through, and they always do, to find that the brand new state of the art ship they were getting has instead been given to their rivals, a straight laced by the book crew of butt kissers that used back stabbing ploys to manipulate some bureaucrats into giving them. So our heros are stuck with the oldest aging piece of space junk in the fleet. They evaluate and find their lives are in danger on this thing even while it sits on the ground. However they get to work on it. Meanwhile the goody two shoes crew with the new ship are out on their first mission. Kind of like the old Battlestar Galactica where all the dignitaries of the galaxy are brought together for a major conference for intergalactic peace, but it's BS! They are attacked it was a total set up and even the crew of the newest badassed ship is duped. Total destruction and mayhem ensue. A call goes out and the real heros take off in their patched up piece of felgercarb. They arrive to find bits and pieces of ships all over and eventually run into the assholes that were responsible for this travesty. The weapons officer on this hulk is a woman who, when the ship goes into battle, dives down a big hole in the dashboard and ends up floating in a dark abyss. When they need the ship weapons to fire she throws punches and kicks that fire the weapons all while talking felgercarb to the pilot playfully. Anyway, eventually they win as we all expected they would, and when given the opportunity to take back the new ship, decide to keep the old one because like them it may be old and crappy but it's who they are. I cannot find the title for this to save my life.
